The hub slides on an integral aluminum shaft made from aerospace alloy, allowing the system to operate with hundredth-millimeter tolerances in perfect alignment, ensuring performance and durability.
Complementing the refined hub system, we find USB™ cone-cup bearings (Ceramic Ultra Smooth Bearings) with ceramic balls, the best of Fulcrum technology in terms of smoothness and reliability.
The freewheel engagement system has also been improved, while maintaining the 3-pawl mechanism with a 36-tooth ratchet ring. The new HT+ bodies feature a steel insert near the pawl seats to provide a more solid and long-lasting engagement.
The pawl technology continues to be Fulcrum’s preferred choice to offer solid engagement, ease of maintenance, and reduced friction during coasting.
