Caffélatex is available in 1000 or 250 ml bottles. The bottles come with a flexible tube to allow the sealant to be injected directly through the valve.

Very fast puncture repair action

A secret blend of liquid synthetic polymers gives Caffélatex its “latex-like” behavior, becoming solid when exposed to rapid evaporation, repairing holes in the process. We improved this behavior by adding a precise percentage of microscopic silica particles (less than 2 microns, 0.002 mm), so that Caffélatex moves slowly through holes, giving it more time to repair the puncture.

The high speed of puncture repair is especially useful with lightweight or thin-casing tires, making Caffélatex ideal for performance-oriented cyclists, for road and off-road cycling, with tubeless, tubular, and inner tubes. Caffélatex repairs holes up to 5 mm (off-road tubeless tires) and 3 mm (road tubeless tires).

Foaming behavior activated by wheel movement

During the engineering of Caffélatex and its formula, we discovered that a foaming behavior (changing from liquid to foam when shaken, activated by wheel movement) was a great advantage in terms of distribution ability inside the tire cavity.

When wheels spin, centrifugal force pushes traditional liquid sealants against the outermost circumference inside the tire. Caffélatex, turning into foam, tends to fill the entire internal cavity of the tire, making it available and effective even in case of sidewall punctures. Caffélatex returns to liquid state after about 15 minutes of rest.

Durability

Compared to other “latex-like” sealants, Caffélatex is very stable and durable, although its lifespan is strongly influenced by the type of tire.

Using the recommended amount for tire size/type, the expected lifespan of Caffélatex is:

• Tubular (Caffélatex inserted in latex or butyl inner tube, not TPU): up to 1 year
• UST Tubeless tire: 2-6 months
• Tubeless-ready tire: 1-4 months
• Tubular-type tire: 1-3 months

Without knowing specific conditions (wheel/tire type, tire thickness and porosity, external temperature and humidity, bicycle storage conditions…), we recommend checking Caffélatex every 2 months to ensure it is liquid and thus guarantees its preventive puncture protection action.

When the liquid is dry, wheels sealed with Caffélatex are still airtight, but Caffélatex will no longer actively repair punctures.

Non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-allergenic

Caffélatex does not contain ammonia or other harsh chemicals: this feature also makes it the preferred sealant for cyclocross/tubular applications, as it causes no damage to sensitive latex inner tubes.

WARNING: oxidation of aluminum rims can occur due to the water content of the sealant, and happens when the metal surface is not painted/anodized or covered by rim-strip or tubeless tape.

Because its formula is synthetic, Caffélatex does not trigger allergic reactions in people allergic to natural rubber latex products.

Usage and storage temperature recommendations

Operating temperatures: -20 / + 50 °C
Storage temperatures: -15 / + 30 °C

Caffélatex has a shelf life of 2 years from the first bottle opening, provided the bottle is properly closed and stored away from direct sunlight, and the storage temperature is within the range indicated above.

To check if the liquid inside a bottle of Caffélatex is still effective, even after a long time since first opening:

• the liquid should have a homogeneous viscosity (no solid pieces or obvious separation between lighter and denser liquid);
• 10-second test: wet thumb and forefinger in liquid Caffélatex, press them together for ten seconds then release: if it starts to form a solid layer, it still works properly.
