Reserve 42|49 Turbulent Aero Wheelset

Developed and tested using Turbulent Aero technology, the 42|49 wheels are designed to handle everything, offering comfort and excellent aerodynamic feel. The 42|49 wheels, which have already ridden the roads of Paris-Roubaix and the Giro d'Italia, come with a lifetime warranty and a dedicated crash replacement programme in the event of an accident. In keeping with Reserve's approach, you will find external nipples, standard spokes, no tyre restrictions with a semi-hooked design and, of course, no rider weight limit.

Wind tunnel tested

The life of a wheel like the new Reserve 42|49 T begins with computational fluid dynamics (CFD), with the aim of maximising aerodynamics and improving stability. Reserve's exclusive wind tunnel tests then provide data focused on simulating real-world airflow, allowing us to confirm performance targets in a sterile, controlled environment. Reserve has therefore created one of the most stable and aerodynamic wheels ever.

Strong and lightweight

Optimising the strength and weight of our rims requires continuous effort that begins in our California composites laboratory in Santa Cruz. We not only work on developing the carbon fibre layup, but have also developed a proprietary testing protocol to simulate real-world impacts and wheel spoke failures. As a result, we can define the exact fibre orientation for each rim model to maximise stiffness and strength.
