Technologies

HardWALL

Casing with heel-to-heel protection and a hard rubber insert positioned above the bead for reliability suitable for any aggressive riding style. The multiple reinforcements incorporated into the structure improve the overall casing strength and provide greater support when riding at low pressures: with a nylon layer from heel to heel integrated into the casing fabric and a thick hard rubber insert above the bead, HardWALL easily handles high loads and prevents punctures. Many reinforcement technologies combined with a 60tpi nylon casing result in a solid tire construction, enhancing reliability and ride quality without compromising weight. The HardWALL MTB casing is dedicated to the trail and enduro world.


SmartGrip Compound

Decades of success in Motocross and Rally World Championships have led Pirelli engineers to develop an innovative compound, the SmartGRIP Compound for the Scorpion™ MTB range, combining two opposite characteristics: tear resistance for maximum mechanical grip in dry conditions and at the same time maximum puncture resistance; chemical grip on wet surfaces, so you don’t have to worry about rain and muddy, slippery trail sections. The compound used is the result of an intense research and development process that has achieved absolute performance in both dry and wet conditions. Optimized tread patterns for terrain consistency regardless of weather conditions maximize the effectiveness of the various knob geometries present in the Scorpion™ MTB range, for truly uncompromising performance. With the Pirelli Scorpion™ MTB range, it is no longer necessary to change tires based on weather conditions, but only to focus on the terrain consistency you usually face.
