The new version of the Maxxis Forekaster directly targets modern short-travel trail bikes (100mm-130mm), i.e., the "downcountry" segment. Designed to be a "Goldilocks" tire, the new Forekaster (released July 2022) rolls faster than a Minion or even the Dissector , but provides more predictable cornering, climbing, and braking traction than the Aspen or at Rekon.

EXO

EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires. This tightly woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that tire performance remains unchanged. Choose EXO protection for increased durability for gravel, XC, and light trail riding.

TUBELESS READY

Tubeless ready tires offer the rider numerous advantages: the ability to use lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance compared to a tire with an inner tube; and less chance of flats because there is no tube. Tubeless ready tires are marked with the letters "TR" on the sidewall.

Tubeless ready tires must be mounted on tubeless-compatible rims and require the use of a liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Make sure to regularly check the sealant and refresh it as needed since it will dry out over time.

Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tires: road tubeless, tubular, and tubeless ready. The use of liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tire will void the warranty.
