The Maxxis Ardent Race shares many features with the Ikon, including small, ramped centre tread knobs, but offers improved cornering performance with more substantial shoulder knobs.

EXO

EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tyres. This densely woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that tyre performance remains unchanged. Choose EXO protection for greater durability for gravel, XC and light trail riding.

TUBELESS READY

Tubeless ready tyres offer riders several benefits: the ability to use lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance than a tyre with an inner tube; and less chance of a flat because there is no inner tube. Tubeless ready tyres are marked with the letters "TR" on the sidewall.

Tubeless ready tyres must be fitted to tubeless-compatible rims and require liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Be sure to check the sealant regularly and replenish it as needed, as it will dry out over time.


Liquid sealants must only be used in the following tyre types: road tubeless, tubular and tubeless ready. Using liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tyre will void the warranty.
