Technologies

WT - Wide Trail

The WT construction optimizes the tire tread and volume by adapting it to modern rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrower rims and risk creating an overly squared profile, reducing performance. WT tires are optimized for 35 mm wide rims and work properly with 30 and 35 mm rims.


TR- Tubeless Ready

Maxxis UST-certified tubeless mountain bike tires feature the latest technology for the lightest tubeless tires. This technology offers better puncture resistance, retains air more effectively, and strengthens at a lower weight than previous generation tubeless tires. By adding a thin layer of fabric coated with a special rubber compound, a lighter, stronger, and more airtight casing was achieved.

DOUBLE DOWN (DD)

DoubleDown (DD) is our casing solution for enduro races and e-bike use. Two layers of our lightweight 120 TPI casing material are combined with a butyl sidewall insert to create a highly durable tire with greater trail feedback compared to a downhill casing tire. DoubleDown tires are slightly lighter than their Downhill counterparts, but it is precisely the difference in "trail feel" that sets them apart. Some riders may prefer the highly damped ride provided by a downhill casing tire.
