Continental Kryptotal-Rear Enduro Soft Tyre 29x2.40

Optimised for the rear wheel, the all-round Kryptotal tyre balances stability, grip, braking traction and rolling resistance. Ideal for pushing yourself on terrain in any conditions.

Specifications:

• Soft compound: The balance between grip and rolling resistance for gravity-focused uses. A high level of grip with reasonable rolling resistance. The option to optimise the rolling properties of the rear wheel on a DH bike or achieve the optimum combination for enduro or trail riding.
• Enduro casing: Durable single-ply casing construction with Apex to prevent punctures.
• Tubeless Ready: The casing construction is robust and resistant to damage and penetration by foreign objects. The result: versatility, low weight and an attractive design. Tyres made with this technology can also be used with an inner tube.
• E25: suitable for e-bikes.

Technologies

BlackChili
The BlackChili compound is produced exclusively at the Continental factory in Korbach, Germany, and combines the latest polymers with specially developed carbon black particles and fillers. Both cars and bicycles benefit from this technology. Fitted to a bicycle, tyres with BlackChili offer riders excellent reliability, whether racing downhill on a mountain bike or competing in time trials on a road bike.

Apex
Used successfully for years in car tyres, its transition to bicycle tyres was only a matter of time. A natural rubber profile inserted between the casing layers at the base of the tyre stiffens the sidewalls, minimising tyre twisting caused by high lateral loads. Stiffer sidewalls, in turn, reduce the risk of punctures and prevent the tyre from slipping off the rim. At low pressure, grip improves without making cornering too sluggish. The risk of punctures is significantly reduced.
