Technologies

BlackChili
The BlackChili compound is produced exclusively at Continental's Korbach plant in Germany and combines the latest polymers with carbon black particles and specially developed fillers. Both cars and bicycles benefit from this technology. Mounted on a bicycle, tires with BlackChili offer riders excellent reliability, whether in downhill mountain bike racing or time trials on a road bike.

Apex
Used successfully for years in car tires, its transition to bicycle tires was only a matter of time. A natural rubber profile, inserted between the casing layers at the base of the tire, stiffens the sidewalls, minimizing tire torsion caused by high lateral loads. Stiffer sidewalls, in turn, reduce the risk of punctures and prevent the tire from slipping off the rim. At low pressure, grip is improved without becoming too slow in corners. The risk of punctures is significantly reduced.
