Technologies

Tubeless Ready
The casing construction is robust and resistant to damage and penetration by foreign objects. The result: versatility, low weight and an attractive design. Tyres made with this technology can also be used tubeless or with an inner tube.

BlackChili
A unique Continental compound, produced only in Germany, that revolutionises bicycle tyres! BlackChili Compound takes the balance between greater grip and rolling resistance to the highest level. Numerous first-place test results confirm the benefits, which can be measured and recorded in the laboratory and in the field. New-generation polymers, carbon particles developed using nanotechnology and fillers deliver truly unique performance. From the MTB downhill tyre to the time trial bike tyre, the ultimate in each area of use! BlackChili Compound improves rolling resistance by 26% while offering approximately 30% more grip than activated silica compounds. Tyres made with BlackChili Compound also offer higher mileage and, unlike multiple compounds, consistent performance from the first kilometre to the last.

Vectran Breaker
Vectran Breaker protects against cuts and is lighter and more flexible than comparable nylon breakers. Rolling resistance is not adversely affected.

Active Comfort
The revolutionary approach to cycling. Integrated into the tyre construction, Active Comfort technology absorbs vibrations and delivers a smoother ride.

Lazer Grip
Lazer Grip, to become one with the road. The laser-cut micro-profile structure extends over the tyre shoulder and ensures excellent cornering grip.

Founded in Hanover in 1871, Continental is still based in the German city today. For cyclists, it makes tires and inner tubes for road, gravel, mountain biking and urban riding. Its connection with bicycles goes back to its early days: in 1892, it became the first German company to produce pneumatic bicycle tires.
