The Ekar 13-speed cassette is available in three different options, completing the range and reflecting the various specializations within the gravel scene, with each combination offering a very smooth gear progression. Small jumps for the first 6 sprockets, while the jumps increase in the second half, where the larger sprockets are. This feature provides an optimal riding experience and helps you get the best from your performance on challenging routes and terrains. The wide choice of larger sprockets allows for the most compact cassette for endurance events and longer gears for more adventurous riders. The cassette combinations are paired with dedicated, easily replaceable gears to provide the widest range of ratios, smooth shifts, and maximum efficiency, and unlike 2x systems, no waste. Two of the three combinations feature a 9-tooth sprocket. Extensive comparative tests have shown that the 9-tooth sprocket is as efficient as any 10 or 11-tooth sprocket, without additional friction thanks to the special profile teeth, so you don’t lose any of the power produced. Each cassette consists of two blocks: 4 smaller sprockets and 9 larger sprockets in the 9-tooth starting configuration; 3 smaller and 10 larger for the 10-tooth starting configuration. For greater mechanical strength, a special steel with a satin nickel-chrome surface treatment is used to reduce wear and friction, providing optimal durability for riding on dirt roads. The sprockets mount the new N3W freewheel body, currently found on Campagnolo Shamal Carbon wheels, but which will be compatible with a wide range of upcoming wheels. N3W is very versatile, featuring the same splined profiles as the classic Campagnolo freewheel body, but is lighter and 4.4 mm shorter. With appropriate lockrings and adapters, N3W is also compatible with all current and future Campagnolo 12, 11, and 10-speed groups, thanks to soon-to-be-available adapter kits. Since all current Campagnolo HH12 disc brake wheels are compatible with N3W, you can easily make your wheels compatible with Ekar: changing wheels is easy and fast!
