Abus Targon 2026 MTB Helmet

The Targon is a full-face modular helmet for the most demanding mountain biking: With a removable, non-fixed chin guard, it offers maximum protection on descents and greater freedom on climbs; made in Italy.

The chin guard can be removed or reattached quickly and easily thanks to the innovative Speed Latch™ mechanism.

For a secure, comfortable fit: use the adjustment dial to precisely adapt the helmet to the shape of your head, down to the millimeter.

The side pads can be adjusted to three different positions. In full-face mode, they ensure a secure fit and maximum comfort.

Without the chin guard, it’s a lightweight, well-ventilated half-shell helmet, ideal for climbs and rides. With the chin guard, it becomes a full-face helmet for greater protection on challenging trails and in bike parks.

The Targon model complies with the ASTM F1952-22 standard, an additional test specifically designed for downhill helmets. It is also EN 1078 certified for Europe and complies with the CPSC standard for the United States and Canada. The MIPS version offers additional protection against rotational forces on technical trails and fast descents.

The helmet is made at our manufacturing facility in Italy and meets high quality standards, with meticulous attention to detail. It is the first mountain bike helmet in the “Made in Italy” series, combining high-quality craftsmanship with innovative design.

• Lower edge protection: The polycarbonate (PC) outer shell covers the lower edge of the helmet and protects it from scratches, impacts, and wear
• Zoom™ Rapid Fit adjustment system: millimeter-precise helmet adjustment to the shape of your head using a dial connected to a thin nylon cable with a steel core - pressing the dial resets it to its starting position
• Front goggle holder: a defined recess on the front of the helmet for positioning goggles securely and aerodynamically while riding
• Goggle holder: a defined area under the helmet visor for securely fastening goggles so they don’t slip or fall off
• Speed Latch System™: for quickly attaching the chin guard to the helmet
• Detachable visor: high-quality visor to protect against sunlight and overhanging branches – thanks to special technology, it can detach in the event of a fall to minimize strain on the neck
• Comfort padding: soft padded inserts for optimal comfort, attached to the helmet with hook-and-loop fasteners
• Adjustable cheek pads: cheek padding can be adjusted using a sliding and locking mechanism for added protection and a comfortable, secure fit in full-face mode
• Removable, washable padding: can be removed and hand-washed or replaced as needed
• Sewn straps: For optimal aerodynamics, the straps are sewn and therefore do not require splitters: this means they fit particularly snugly and do not flap while riding
• In-Mold process: A manufacturing process in which the shock-absorbing expanded polystyrene (EPS) inner material is foamed directly into the polycarbonate (PC) outer shell, creating a durable, robust bond
• Injected carbon: carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic that provides high stability while keeping weight low
• Magnetic buckle: the straps feature a high-quality FIDLOCK magnetic buckle that lets you open the chin strap with one hand, even while wearing gloves
