The only difference between the 100-hour overhaul kit and the 400-hour kit is whether to overhaul or replace the oil cap. After 100 hours, the oil cap must be cleaned, overhauled, and reinstalled. After 400 hours, it must be replaced.
If there is any doubt about the hours of use, check the wear of the bushings inside the oil cap. If in doubt, replace it.
