The world of “Plus”: the latest frontier in Fulcrum technology for MTB wheels.
Fulcrum's flagship product for XC and Marathon racing evolves thanks to feedback from top-level athletes: Red Zone Carbon+ is the result of specific analysis and testing aimed at taking Red Zone Carbon performance to the next level.
The process directly involved Team Buff-Megamo athletes who, together with other athletes, spent a year testing different configurations on race courses to find the perfect balance and the highest possible performance.
The result arrived just before the Cape Epic 2023: a wheel weighing 1,385 g, achieved using a mix of resins and unidirectional high-modulus FF100 fibres made to Fulcrum specifications, which maintains and improves all structural characteristics and incorporates all the best Fulcrum technologies. Red Zone Carbon+ significantly improves handling and responsiveness, by +9.5% and +10% respectively compared with Red Zone Carbon.

The iconic, distinctive shape of the Red Zone Carbon NIP(PLE) FORCE rim remains unchanged, while MoMag and DSRC technologies are carried over. The bearings remain a cup-and-cone design, but are upgraded with the USB™ (Ceramic Ultra Smooth Bearings) system with ceramic balls, further improving the wheels' smooth running while reducing weight and maintenance. Comparative tests showed that USB™ bearings run 50% more smoothly than sealed bearings.
