Technologies

X-Range™

Over the years, road bikes have become faster and more versatile than ever, and cyclists are expanding the possibilities of riding a road bike. X-Range™ is an innovation for today's cyclists. Road bike gearing has been completely rethought to offer a wider, more progressive range alongside smarter shifting parameters. With X-Range™, you can be sure you have always chosen the best gear.

AXS™

AXS™ is the new Sram component integration system that connects the bicycle's electronic components to the app. The Sram AXS™ app allows cyclists to view battery charge levels, change shifting behaviour and customise shift controls, as well as receive maintenance reminders and download app updates.

Orbit™

Orbit™ is an innovative technology for controlling rear derailleur movement. It uses a silicon-based fluid within a sleek, ultralight hydraulic clutch system. Unlike a rear derailleur with a mechanical clutch, Orbit™ technology adds no resistance to the rear derailleur spring during slow or slight movements. This makes shifting and rear wheel removal easier. While riding, the hydraulic clutch system limits chain movement. It provides maximum reliability and optimal chain tension for 2x and 1x systems.

Founded in Chicago in 1987 by Stan Day and a group of cycling enthusiasts, SRAM is still based in the US city today. It makes drivetrains and brakes for road, gravel and mountain bikes. Its story began with a single product: Grip Shift, the shifter that lets riders change gear by twisting the grip.
