Trek bikes: which to choose for your rides

Trek originated in Wisconsin, in the United States, and makes bicycles for sport, everyday travel and leisure. Its ranges include Madone and Domane for road riding, Marlin for mountain biking, and FX and Dual Sport for urban routes and recreational rides. The range also includes electric bikes, components, helmets and accessories.

At Evolution Bikes, the Trek selection includes city bikes, hardtail MTB bikes, road bikes with disc brakes, electric city bikes and electric mountain bikes. To choose, start with the surfaces you ride most often, the length of your rides and the position you find comfortable. Then check the size, specification and availability of the variant on the product page.

  • City riding and training: the Trek FX 3 Disc is a flat-bar bike to consider for travel on tarmac and fitness rides. Available models also include the FX 2 Equipped: check the product page for the accessories included.
  • Tarmac and easy gravel tracks: the Trek Dual Sport 3 Gen 5 suits riders who alternate between urban routes and firm surfaces. You can compare it with the Dual Sport 2 Gen 5 to choose the specification that meets your needs.
  • Road rides: when considering road bikes with disc brakes, assess geometry, gearing and tyre clearance. Your choice should also take account of your mobility and usual riding distances.
  • Off-road: a hardtail MTB bike has front suspension. When choosing an electric mountain bike, also consider its handling on trails, assistance system and battery management.

Equip your bike to suit how you actually use it. The Trek Ion 200 RT front light, Trek Elite bottle cage and Trek water bottles are among the accessories available. For helmets, shoes and clipless pedals, check fit and compatibility: a component should also be chosen with the rest of your equipment in mind.

Evolution Bikes has been a family-run shop since 1974, with three generations of experience, a workshop, bike fitting and e-bike support. We ship throughout Europe. For help comparing Trek sizes and models, ask us for advice in the shop or via chat.
