The Avid BB5 MTB disc brake calliper is a mechanical, cable-operated brake designed for mountain biking. The complete version includes the G2CS 160 mm rotor, adapter and rotor and calliper bolts; alternatively, the calliper is sold without a rotor or adapter. The Tri-Align positioning system helps centre the calliper over the rotor, and the pads can be replaced without tools.
The model is available only in black, so the choice concerns mounting. It is suitable for both front and rear wheels, so choose where you will fit it. The pads are organic with steel backing, and the recommended rotor is the one-piece G2 CleanSweep. Check that the frame has a direct mount before ordering.
