With the new Cura 4 Kashima, the evolution of the most powerful brake has been taken even further. Building on the legendary performance of the Cura 4, the aim was simple: refine every detail to create an even smoother, more precise and more customisable braking experience, without compromising the power and reliability riders expect.

The Cura 4 Kashima benefits from Formula's extensive experience with Miyaki's renowned Kashima Coat® treatment, already extensively proven over years on high-end suspension components. Applied to the brake master cylinder piston directly at their factory in Japan, this exclusive finish reduces friction, delivering an even lighter, smoother and more consistent lever action in all conditions.

The four 18 mm pistons continue to deliver exceptional braking power with unrivalled modulation and control. Combined with the optimised pad surface and increased pad thickness, the Cura 4 Kashima delivers progressive braking that inspires confidence, from aggressive enduro special stages to pure downhill race tracks.

This premium edition now comes as standard with our two-piece FCS lever. Featuring tool-free reach adjustment (lever distance) and Formula's exclusive Feeling Control System , it lets riders fine-tune the brake's character to suit their riding style, choosing with absolute precision between a more progressive or more direct lever feel.

Like every Cura brake, the Cura 4 Kashima is fully forged and anodised to ensure maximum structural integrity, long-term durability and low weight. The new Kashima finish improves performance and gives the brake a distinctive premium appearance, inspired by the highest levels of racing technology.

Supplied with pre-installed sintered pads for maximum braking performance, and an additional set of organic pads included for quieter operation and easy fine-tuning, the Cura 4 Kashima is designed to adapt perfectly to every rider and every terrain.

Formula was founded in Prato in 1987 by Andrea Becocci and his wife Daniela, and remains based there. It makes brakes, suspension and wheels for mountain bikers, bringing its motorcycle experience to the trails. In 1993 it introduced Standard, a hydraulic disc brake designed specifically for mountain biking.
