Shimano GRX ST-RX820 shift/brake lever

The wide  Flare is a typical feature of modern Gravel handlebars. The ergonomics of the GRX ST-RX820 shift/brake lever have been optimized and specifically adapted for flared handlebars. While the grip design reduces pressure on the palm, the textured, non-slip surface of the brake lever improves handling on rough terrain. A small cockpit innovation for maximum comfort and control. With these features, the ergonomic shift/brake lever is perfectly suited to long distances or multi-day tours on mixed terrain.

The STI lever not only offers maximum comfort, but also features smooth, precise, highly responsive shifting across the entire gear range. Proven  SERVO WAVE technology also ensures particularly good control when slowing down. Adjustable grip width (Reach) and bite point (Free Stroke).

Shimano GRX BR-RX820 disc brake caliper

The GRX BR-RX820 hydraulic caliper delivers superior braking power on challenging terrain. Thanks to improved modulation and a quicker bite point, Gravel riders experience a whole new level of control. In addition, the  Flatmount disc brake caliper is quieter and easier to maintain than ever, despite its flatter design. The 10% increase in clearance between the brake pads reduces noise, while the proven  One Way Bleeding system makes maintenance easier.

Dual Control Lever (DCL) | 

Dual Control Lever (DCL) | Shimano DCL levers combine braking and shifting functions in a single control unit for easy, comfortable operation. To raise the performance standard, their innovative ergonomics are even more important than adding extra gears. The highlight of STI (Shimano Total Integration) controls, however, is the ability to shift the front and rear gears with a single finger. Dual Control levers achieve this not only through exceptionally precise, smooth operation, but also with the same stability for which Shimano's MTB technologies are already known.

SERVO WAVE | Because the brake lever takes up a large amount of travel at the start of its movement, the brake pads contact the rotor more quickly, leaving more lever travel to modulate braking force. As a result, SERVOWAVE braking systems offer a faster response, higher performance, and shorter free stroke.

J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System) | On braking systems with a J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated seal (olive), making the brake hose easier to install and remove.

Ice Technologies | To maintain consistently high braking performance during prolonged, uninterrupted use, Shimano developed Ice-Tech cooling technology for rotors and brake pads. Brake pads with Ice Technologies have aluminum cooling fins that dissipate heat more effectively. Combined with the rotor's optimized heat dissipation, this extends pad life while minimizing noise and brake fade.
