Direct Mount Rear Derailleur

Rear wheels are easier to remove with a mounting option for Shimano Shadow RD and Shimano Shadow RD+ rear derailleurs. Direct mounting is designed for a wide range of modern frames with large-section chainstays, particularly mountain bikes with thru-axle dropouts. High flexibility in frame design. No special tools required (M10x1 mounting bolt, without e-clip)!

Shimano Shadow RD

Thanks to the Shimano Shadow RD mechanism, the new rear derailleur is intended for a more aggressive riding style. The low-profile design offers numerous advantages, as does the unique tensioning system that prevents the rear derailleur from contacting the chain on very rough terrain. The result is efficient and very quiet operation.

Founded in 1921 in Sakai, Japan, by Shozaburo Shimano, Shimano is still based in the same city today. For cyclists, it makes drivetrains, brakes, wheels, pedals and cycling shoes. Its history in bicycle components began with the production of freewheels in 1922.
