The Ekar 13-speed cassette is available in three different options that complete the range and reflect the different specialisms within the gravel scene, with each combination offering very smooth gear progression. There are small steps between the first 6 sprockets, with larger steps in the second half, where the larger sprockets are. This feature provides an optimal riding experience and helps you get the best from your performance on challenging routes and terrain. The wide choice of larger sprockets allows for the most compact cassette for endurance events and higher gears for more adventurous riders. The cassette combinations are paired with dedicated, easily replaceable chainrings to provide the widest gear range, smooth shifts and maximum efficiency and, unlike 2x systems, no waste. Two of the three combinations feature a 9-tooth sprocket. Extensive comparative testing has shown that the 9-tooth sprocket is as efficient as any 10- or 11-tooth sprocket, with no additional friction thanks to the specially profiled teeth, so none of the power produced is lost. Each cassette consists of two blocks: 4 smaller sprockets and 9 larger sprockets in the configuration starting with 9 teeth; 3 smaller and 10 larger sprockets in the configuration starting with 10. For greater mechanical strength, a special steel is used with a satin nickel-chrome surface treatment that reduces wear and friction, providing optimal strength for riding on unpaved roads. The sprockets fit the new N3W freehub body, currently found on Campagnolo Shamal Carbon wheels, which will be compatible with a wide range of forthcoming wheels. N3W is very versatile, featuring the same spline profiles as the classic Campagnolo freehub body, but is lighter and 4.4 mm shorter. With appropriate lockrings and adapters, N3W is also compatible with all current and future Campagnolo 12-, 11- and 10-speed groupsets, thanks to adapter kits available soon. As all current Campagnolo HH12 disc brake wheels are compatible with N3W, you can easily make your wheels compatible with Ekar: changing the wheels is quick and easy!
