The only difference between the 100-hour service kit and the 400-hour kit is whether to service or replace the oil seal head. After 100 hours, the oil seal head must be cleaned, serviced and reinstalled. After 400 hours, it must be replaced.
If there is any uncertainty about the hours of use, check the wear on the bushings inside the oil seal head. If in doubt, replace it.
