Schwalbe AV4 Inner Tube

The Schwalbe AV4 inner tube is a standard replacement for 16- and 18-inch bicycle tyres, with ETRTO size 28/37-340/355. It has a AV valve measuring 40 mm long, is made from butyl and weighs 85 g. It is compatible with ETRTO sizes 28→35-355, 28→37-349 and 37-340, covering several tyre sizes.

Start with the wheel size: the AV4 suits 16 or 18 inches, but always check the diameter marked on your current tyre. If your tyre size matches one of the listed ETRTO sizes, the inner tube is suitable. Inflate it slightly before fitting to prevent folds, and check that the tyre bead is fully seated.

Schwalbe was established in Germany in 1973 by Ralf Bohle, with roots in the family business founded in Bergneustadt in 1922. Today it is based in Reichshof and makes bicycle tyres and inner tubes. Its name means “swallow” in German and translates Swallow, the name of the first tyres imported from Korea.
