AEROWEAVE

The quest to reduce weight and increase ventilation while maintaining support and protection led our designers and engineers to develop an entirely new material: Aeroweave. Now in its second generation, Aeroweave fabric interweaves nylon fibres with thermoplastic polymer filaments for an even lighter shoe that retains its original toughness, providing the strength and support required in competition.

POWERSTRAP

While more traditional Velcro closures simply bring together both sides of the shoe's upper, in the Vento Powerstrap configuration a ribbon wraps around the foot, providing secure support using just two straps. The instep and midfoot can be adjusted separately for a personalised fit and compression, and these straps have now been optimised to make them even lighter and stronger.

R3 SOLE

Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave also features an entirely new sole, the R3, engineered with an updated carbon fibre layup and a new design to save weight without compromising stiffness. With a rating of 10, the R3 is a stiff sole that provides optimum power transfer. Two large air vents and deep internal channels allow cooling airflow, helping to manage temperature. In line with the latest bike fitting trends, the R3 sole offers a recessed cleat position, the same as all the latest Fizik models, to optimise pedalling efficiency and reduce knee compression, particularly suited to very aggressive forward aerodynamic positions.
