For Campagnolo, the “Shamal” project has always represented a challenge for the future. Launched in 1992, it was the first complete wheel and introduced the deep-profile concept, an aerodynamic design that was revolutionary at the time and immediately successful.
The innovation lies in the wheel design called Dual Profile. A different modular profile, refined in the wind tunnel and through road testing, combined with hubs with differentiated flanges, allows shorter spokes to be used. This benefits overall stiffness without sacrificing riding comfort.
Like previous models, the new Shamal - Dual Profile uses fibre with a C-LUX finish, a solution that delivers optimal handling on the road in all conditions, even with wide tyres, allowing gravel use too.
The character of the new Campagnolo Shamal wheels is also reflected in the 2 Way Fit system, which lets riders choose between a traditional clincher tyre and inner tube or a tubeless setup. The latter is made possible by the undrilled upper rim bed, eliminating the need for sealing tape.
The spokes use the G3 lacing geometry, an iconic signature of Campagnolo production. This patented system ensures perfectly balanced spoke tension and optimal stiffness for transferring power from the pedals.
The smooth running of the new Campagnolo Shamal is provided by aluminium hubs with a cup-and-cone system, allowing easy bearing maintenance. Compared with the previous model, the new materials save over a hundred grams, bringing the weight to 1.480 grams.

G3 SPOKE GEOMETRY
The iconic G3 Campagnolo geometry challenges conventional road bike wheel spoke configurations. Groups of three parallel straight-pull spokes are arranged in a 2:1 ratio.

N3W
N3W, an acronym for NEXT 3 WAYS, is a patented freehub body standard engineered to accommodate 11, 12 and 13-speed cassettes with smallest sprockets of 9, 10 and 11 teeth, while maintaining compatibility with older 9 and 10-speed cassettes.
