Tubeless Ready:
Tubeless ready tyres offer riders numerous benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, improving traction; lower rolling resistance than a tyre with an inner tube; and less chance of flats because there is no inner tube. Tubeless ready tyres are marked with the letters "TR" on the sidewall.
Tubeless ready tyres must be fitted to tubeless-compatible rims and require liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Make sure you check the sealant regularly and replenish it as needed, as it will dry out over time.
Liquid sealants should only be used in the following tyre types: road tubeless, tubular and tubeless ready. Using liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tyre will void the warranty.
WIDE TRAIL
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tyre's tread layout and profile on today's wider modern rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an excessively square tyre profile, leading to suboptimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an internal rim width of 35 mm, but have been shown to work across an internal rim width range of 30-35 mm, depending on rider preference.
DH CASING
The Maxxis DH Casing for MTB downhill tyres consists of two 60tpi fabric plies with a rubber coating running from bead to bead, providing additional protection and lateral stiffness for enduro and downhill use. An added layer of butyl rubber in the bead area protects the rim edges and adds sidewall stability.
