Maxxspeed
The new MaxxSpeed (2023) is our flagship rubber compound for XC racing. It is a high-silica compound that reduces rolling resistance and improves wet traction. Compared with the previous 3C MaxxSpeed, the new compound has approximately 25% lower rolling resistance in laboratory tests (using the same tread pattern, construction and tyre pressure). In real-world conditions, our tests show that the new compound can save up to one minute over a 90-minute race.
EXO
EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tyres. This densely woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that tyre performance is not compromised. Choose EXO Protection for greater durability on gravel, XC and light trail routes.
Tubeless Ready
Tubeless Ready tyres offer riders many advantages: the ability to run lower air pressures for improved traction, lower rolling resistance than a tyre with an inner tube, and a reduced risk of punctures thanks to the absence of an inner tube. Tubeless Ready tyres are identified by the marking “TR” on the sidewall.
Tubeless Ready tyres must be fitted to tubeless-compatible rims and require liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Make sure you check the sealant regularly and replace it if necessary, as it dries out over time.
Liquid sealants must only be used in the following tyre types: road tubeless, tubular and Tubeless Ready. Using liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tyre voids the warranty.
