A fit for riding, pure and simple. Created for winter riding, these bib tights are designed to cover the widest possible temperature range, from cool days to sub-zero conditions, when full wind protection would also be ideal. Simple in appearance, their clean lines actually conceal a wealth of technology. Three different fabrics have been used for these bib tights to offer the right protection for each part of the body. The front, from waist to knee, is made from Castelli Core Due fabric, a heavier, tightly knitted polyester/nylon blend that blocks much of the wind. The polyester side sits against the skin for active push-pull moisture transfer, and the yarns have a hollow core, with a pocket of still air in the centre for extra insulation. On the backs of the thighs and buttocks, a highly stretchy fleece fabric improves the fit. From knee to ankle, Castelli Thermoflex fabric offers the perfect warmth and stretch, while the single inner-leg seam prevents chafing around the knee. The bib tights are finished with flat, raw-cut ankle openings, flat-knit bib straps and a KISS Air2 seat pad.
Castelli’s roots lie in Vittore Gianni’s tailoring shop, founded in Milan in 1876; Maurizio Castelli created the scorpion brand in 1974. Today it is based in Fonzaso and makes clothing for your rides, from jerseys to shorts. In 1977 it introduced aerodynamic Lycra shorts, used in racing and sold to the public.
