Some people simply want to go their own way, and we have just the thing for them. Many fans of traditional tubular tyres still prefer the look and feel of pure cotton tubular tyres. We offer a full range for all wheel diameters, made with a cotton casing with 220 threads per inch.

Kevlar® 3D, Vittoria's original high-performance compound with added Kevlar, is specifically designed for all our 220 TPI cotton tubular tyres.

The benefits of cotton casings.
Cotton is the material traditionally used to manufacture high-quality tubular tyres. Vittoria produces all its casings in-house, in every width, starting with natural 220 TPI cotton for its tubular tyre range.

A fabric with thin, finely woven threads produces a softer, more flexible casing that offers superior grip thanks to a larger contact area with the road. It also improves comfort, as small impacts are absorbed better. Finally, speed also increases thanks to lower rolling resistance.

Fabric density is expressed in threads per inch, or TPI (threads-per-inch): the higher the TPI count, the finer each individual thread and the denser the weave. The higher the TPI, the more flexible the tyre. Incredibly strong and fine, cotton allows casings to be produced with the highest possible TPI count
