Tailored zonal cushioning
The evolution of digital 3D printing has made it possible to develop a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by traditional production methods and materials. Adaptive saddle padding is made by Carbon® using their revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis™ technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen-permeable optics and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties, resolution and surface finish.

Using Carbon technology, biomechanists and engineers have an unprecedented opportunity to design and create multiple functional zones within the saddle, tuning each separately for specific mechanical properties. Each of these key functional zones is designed for distinctive cushioning and mechanical response, joined progressively and seamlessly within the same padding. The result? A 60% reduction in peak pressure through better weight distribution for greater comfort across the entire saddle surface.

Aliante is a waved saddle with a gradual, tapered transition from wing to nose. With a slightly wider platform to support the sit bones, it improves stability and weight distribution for all-day rides. With a focus on comfort, the newly redesigned Aliante has a flatter surface to allow more evenly distributed pressure and a balanced feel, particularly useful on extended endurance rides.

Aliante Adaptive 3D-printed padding has been designed to give every rider the right support, regardless of riding position, for long days on the bike. The unique properties of our Adaptive technology allow us to design thicker padding with a softer central functional zone instead of a cut-out, increasing the saddle's surface area to distribute pressure more effectively and improve comfort on longer rides. Aliante R3 Adaptive balances strength and weight with a carbon-reinforced nylon shell and a hollow Kium rail.
