Garmin Varia RearVue 820 Light

Varia RearVue 820 features our most powerful and accurate radar, with a wider field of view for more reliable alerts than ever. The rear light offers visibility up to 2 km away and also signals when you stop or brake.

• SMART, RELIABLE RADAR: With our most powerful and accurate radar detection technology, Varia RearVue 820 detects approaching vehicles up to 175 metres away with a wider field of view.

• BRIGHT REAR LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT: The rear light makes you visible from up to 2 km away. A brake light detects when you slow down or stop and displays a unique flashing pattern.

• ADVANCED DEI VEHICLE DETECTION: View alerts for small, medium and large vehicles and see when a vehicle changes lanes, along with its threat level, when paired with a newer version of Edge® or the Varia™ app on your smartphone.

• RECEIVE ALERTS YOUR WAY: For visual and audible alerts while riding, connect this radar to the Varia app, compatible Edge devices or Garmin smartwatches. In addition to wrist alerts, selected Garmin smartwatches can also provide audio alerts for approaching vehicles; this feature is currently available in the Garmin Public Beta for selected smartwatches³.

• MULTIPLE DI BRIGHTNESS OPTIONS: Ride with four different brightness levels: day flash, night flash, solid mode and group mode, which help protect the eyes of riders behind you. You can also customise your preferred mode through the Varia app.

• COMPACT DESIGN: The compact design and new Varia RearVue 820 seatpost mount fit almost any road or gravel bike perfectly and are compatible with the Varia seatpost mounting kit (sold separately).

Garmin was founded in 1989 in Lenexa, Kansas, by Gary Burrell and Min Kao, and today has its global headquarters in Olathe. To accompany you on your rides, it makes Edge GPS cycling computers, Rally power meters, Varia radars and lights. A curious detail: the name Garmin combines the two founders’ names.
