NyTech Breaker

The new NyTech Puncture Protection was developed from the proven Continental SafetySystem puncture protection system. Nylon makes it as resistant to punctures and cuts as Kevlar reinforced with high-density fibres, while offering lower rolling resistance and reduced weight. The NyTech system sits between SafetySystem and PolyX and is the most efficient puncture protection system in its segment.

PureGrip Compound

Based on an activated silica compound, this technology was originally intended for mid-range products. Following intensive development at the Research and Development centre in Korbach, Germany, a new advanced compound was created with excellent grip and properties suited to cross-country riding.
The new rubber compound, whose PureGrip name speaks for itself, sits just below BlackChili and is used in high-end products for both road and MTB use. Alongside excellent grip, it also delivers long service life, both characteristics of Continental tyres, which are manufactured exclusively at the Hefei factory in Asia.

Founded in Hanover in 1871, Continental is still based in the German city today. For cyclists, it makes tires and inner tubes for road, gravel, mountain biking and urban riding. Its connection with bicycles goes back to its early days: in 1892, it became the first German company to produce pneumatic bicycle tires.
