The Ekar rear derailleur was designed using Campagnolo's unrivalled experience and ingenuity, developed and refined over more than 90 years of innovation. Although the Ekar rear derailleur shares the heritage and research behind our groupsets, starting with Super Record, this brand-new design was created specifically for gravel. The dedicated 1x system and 13 speeds make it effective, while the use of a 9-tooth sprocket enables a full gear range with small, evenly spaced steps and well-maintained cadence. The technology, design and materials were chosen to meet the specific performance needs of all-road and gravel enthusiasts. The combination of fast, precise and reliable shifting with secure chain retention, low weight, durability and toughness earns it a place in the all-road arena. The medium-cage rear derailleur design is compatible with the different sprocket sizes across all three cassette gearing options, from 9-36 to 10-44, making it perfect for any gravel requirement. The parallelogram's 2D trajectory is designed specifically for the Ekar 1x system, giving the rear derailleur precise mechanical movements to make the best use of the 13 sprockets. Its jockey wheels, with different tooth counts, ensure optimal operation and secure chain retention for confidence and peace of mind, whatever terrain you tackle. The clutch, permanently engaged for more reliable chain retention and minimal operating noise, can be locked forward for easy wheel removal. The Ekar rear derailleur alone contains more than 70 carefully designed and engineered individual parts. Carbon-fibre-reinforced polyamide and anodised 7075 and 6082 alloys are expertly combined in the Ekar rear derailleur body and cage to achieve the best balance of strength, durability and low weight. This ensures reliable long-term operation and excellent resistance to impacts, sand and dust on gravel routes, while stainless steel screws provide lasting strength and resilience in the toughest conditions.
